Vacation memories.......

Yellowstone National Park Vacation
Family vacations sure have changed over the last 50 years. When we were growing up Dad got a week or two off every year and it was spent visiting relatives. We might sneak in a little sightseeing along the way as we traveled in the back of the truck that towed our trailer. We sure weren't on a luxury cruise, or staying in a theme park. We were just glad we had a trailer and didn't have to rough-it in a tent.
Dad must have had two weeks off for this trip because back in the 1960's it took three days to drive across the country to Colorado. After staying with Daddy Ray for a few days; and spending most of that time trying to catch chipmunks, we took a little side trip to Yellowstone National Park. We saw all of the normal sites and just as we were packing up to leave, we came around the side of the trailer and ran straight into this bear. You never saw a family of four dive into the front seat of a truck so fast in your life....lol We were a real jumble of arms and legs!
I'm glad Dad had his camera with him to take this photo, but we sure didn't need it to remember that adventure ..............Jolene
